Escape to the Lake District for a dog friendly weekend break

Lake District, Cumbria

Head to Coniston in the Lake District for a multitude of dog friendly days out, including long walks, boat rides and lots of cake.

Nestled on the banks of the glorious Coniston Waters is the elegant lakeside town of Coniston, where you and your pooch can pay a visit to visit to Brantwood, former home of famous Victorian art critic and painter John Ruskin, for long walks along its beautiful lakes.

Afterwards, head to the dog friendly Jumping Jenny restaurant - an ideal pit stop for you both and will give you a chance to rev yourself up on delicious cake and coffee before setting off again. Then jump aboard one of the 1920s style boats at Coniston Launches, fitted with solar-electric power, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon sailing away across the sparkling Coniston Waters. It’s an elegantly sedate way for you to travel in tranquillity before stepping on dry land and sniffing at stuff again.
