Take part in your very own Time Team project at Hadrian’s Wall

South Shields, Tyne and Wear

Join the Wallquest community archaeology project, and discover what secrets lie on the eastern sections of Hadrian’s Wall.

Hadrian’s Wall stretches across the north of England and is a source of immense pride and joy for the local communities it crosses. But sometimes the Wall is not visible and its path disappears under cities and countryside.

Enter Wallquest, a community archaeology project in the northeast that allows the general public to get their hands dirty, and help by getting involved with research and excavate parts of the Wall.

By volunteering to this important project, you could help improve the awareness, understanding and interpretation of Hadrian’s Wall eastern sections, and how it has helped to shape the Tyneside of today. Whether you help out with surveys and digs outside, or research into documents and finds indoors, your help will be most welcome.
