A royal palace by the sea

Brighton & Hove, East Sussex

Brighton is home to the spectacular Royal Pavilion, a palace like no other.

The outside is a Taj Mahal-style extravaganza with domes and minarets. Once you step inside you’ll be transported to the Orient, or at least a Regency England interpretation of the Far East! Home to one of the finest collections of chinoiserie in the country, expect to see an array of dragons including one monster with a one-tonne chandelier gripped between his feet.

Apart from being a stunning attraction in its own right, the Royal Pavilion is also home to range of events throughout the year. Enjoy classical concerts in the Music Room, art exhibitions, and the popular ice rink in the gardens during winter.
