It was home to Charles 2nd Earl Grey, who was Prime Minister from 1830 to 1834. The Earl is probably better known for the eponymous Earl Grey tea which was specially blended using bergamot to offset the taste of lime in the water at Howick. Be sure to enjoy a cup in the tea rooms.
Take a stroll along 'The Long Walk' towards the coastline at Howick Haven. Here you'll find the small beach in a rocky cove, Rumbling Kern.
