Follow themed trails through Haldon Forest Park

Exeter, Devon

Walk, cycle, horse ride, segway or Go Ape at Haldon Forest Park near Exeter.

From easily accessible walking routes to challenging mountain bike trails winding through the trees, there are plenty of opportunities to get active under these 3,500 acres of forest canopy. Themed trails include the Discovery Trail with fun features along the route for children, and the Butterfly Trail which takes in stunning views over the Teign valley.

The Challenge and Ridge Ride Trails offer adventurous routes for mountain bikers, and a network of horse riding trails includes a quarter mile stretch for galloping alongside Exeter Racecourse. Pick up walking, cycling and horse-riding trail maps from the Forest car park on arrival.

Alternatively, why not try something different and explore Haldon by Segway, with regular weekend tours from Easter to November, or discover the forest from the treetops at the exhilarating Go Ape! After all this exertion, refuel at the Ridge Café.
