Visit the SAS Memorial at Hereford Cathedral

Called Ascension, the beautiful stained glass window and stone monument was specially commissioned and was two years in the making from very carefully selected materials. It celebrates Hereford’s unique link to the Special Forces and the many people and lives connected by it.

Positioned in a part of the Cathedral for all to enjoy, visitors can admire the incredible aqua colours of the leaded glass, animated by its double layer design that throws its spectrum of light into the building.  The peace of the inscribed stone sculpture beneath gives this a powerful presence that visitors are guaranteed to be captivated by.
