July events: Mouth of the Tyne Festival

Tynemouth, Tyne and Wear

Hop on the metro from Newcastle and be transported to a chilled-out, seaside music festival that mixes live music, performing arts, food and crafts.

The Mouth of the Tyne Festival hits England’s northeast coast in July, bringing well-known artists and musicians to perform in a unique cliffside venue, set amongst the ruins of the medieval Tynemouth Priory and Castle.

Alongside a top bill of music, this UK summer festival hosts an array of acts and activities in Tynemouth and South Shields.

The free jazz stage at the top of Front Street is a popular spot for street performers and parades, and the Playhouse Whitley Bay puts on plenty of kid-friendly events including storytelling, music and crafts. Tynemouth Metro Station is transformed into a venue for the festival, too.

Mouth of the Tyne Festival 2022 takes place between 7 and 10 July.
