July events: Bluedot festival

Based at the Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire, bluedot festival offers big-name musicians alongside a programme of science experiments, expert talks and immersive art. 

The festival’s mission is both simple and sublime: ‘To inspire and entertain. To explore the frontiers of human advancement. To celebrate science and the exploration of the universe. To explore the intersections of science, culture, art and technology. To highlight the fragility of planet earth.’

With multiple awards under its belt and the iconic Lovell Telescope as backdrop, the three-day festival’s focus on space plays a consistent theme throughout. And the countryside of Cheshire gives great opportunity to view the heavens in all their glory.

bluedot festival 2022 takes place between 22-25 July and will feature headline sets from Björk, Groove Armada and Metronomy.
