Ride along Morecambe's seaside cycle way

Morecambe Bay, Lancashire

Take the Bay Cycle Way at your own pace, stopping off for awesome views and to sample delicious local food.

The Bay Cycle Way, or NCN 700, starts on Walney Island near Barrow and travels all the way round to Glasson Dock south of Lancaster, taking in gorgeous seaside and English coastal town Morecambe.

It’s a relatively flat route, along quiet roads, canal towpaths, cycle superhighways and promenades, making it nice and accessible.

At Morecambe Bay, the route coincides with the Way of the Roses cycle route which crosses Yorkshire as well as Lancashire. Don’t forget to pose for a photo with the statue of famous comedian Eric Morecambe while you’re at the Bay!

If you’re looking to refuel mid-ride, rest assured there’s lots of lovely cafes and restaurants along the way.
