Explore Nene Park in the River Nene Valley

Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Imagine somewhere beautiful, safe and unspoilt where you can explore endless meadows, lakes and woodland, and the River Nene.

Ferry Meadows Country Park and Overton Lake are located at the heart of the wider Nene Park, bordered by the pretty villages of Ailsworth, Castor, Sutton and Water Newton. Explore the Sculpture Park at Thorpe Meadows, take a riverside walk or spend time on the rowing lake at Orton Mere.

There’s also good cycling here with many miles of off-road traffic-free cycling, at the heart of the Peterborough Green Wheel which surrounds and crosses the city, including a stretch of the National Cycle Network Route 63.

With opportunities to try your hand at water-sports, play a round of golf, or even try Geo-caching and orienteering, Nene Park is a great place to escape to.
