Do you have an adventure-seeking canine companion in your life? No need to leave them home - embark on an unforgettable dog-friendly trip together, from hikes in the Lake District to dog-friendly festivals.

PetsPyjamas, sponsors of this year’s VisitEngland Awards for Excellence Dog Friendly category, share with us their break ideas that both you and your pooch will enjoy…

1. Holiday in a castle

Bovey Castle

Make like royalty and stay in the luxurious Bovey Castle set within the beautiful Dartmoor National Park in Devon. Your dog will be welcomed with biscuits at reception, bedding in your room and sausages for breakfast, preparing you both for explorations along the stunning local dog-walking trails and beaches.

2. Train your dog at a luxury hotel

What better place to train your dog than in the heart of the Cotswolds and within the luxury surroundings of the dog-loving Old Swan & Minster Mill. Four-legged guests will be provided with doggie beds and bowls, plus PetsPyjamas will request a special table to be set up so that you and your dog can sit together at dinner.

3. Go to a dog-friendly festival

We like to take our best friends with us wherever we go, including to a summer festival. Many of the big name festivals don’t allow dogs, but there are still lots of fun-packed festivals that will welcome your furry friend with open arms.

4. Take a hike!
