Embrace the festive spirit with Yorkshire Coast’s winter events

North Yorkshire Coast & North York Moors

The winter is full of highlights as venues in Scarborough, Whitby and Filey host a variety of shows; musicals, comedies, plays and dramas with a real flavour of Christmas with wassailing and traditional pantomimes.

Enjoy a wide-range of events and entertainment to suit all ages and interests starting with Bram Stoker Film Festival, Whitby Goth Festival at Halloween, a Chamber Music Festival on the North York Moors, Bonfire night’s spectacular seaside firework displays, Robin Hood’s Bay Victorian Weekend in December and watch Father Christmas sail into Scarborough Harbour.

The area has been renowned for events and festivals since the start of the famous Scarborough Fayre in 1253.  The tradition continues with towns and villages bursting with events, from music to drama and sport to dance.
