Get away from it all on a winter ramble in West Norfolk

West Norfolk

Lap up the wide-open spaces and natural beauty of West Norfolk on the waymarked routes of the Norfolk Coast Path and The Peddars Way.

For an easy stroll, start from Hunstanton with its epic prehistoric cliffs, and follow the Norfolk Coast Path to the charming coastal village of Thornham. Or, if you prefer a challenge why not tackle a longer route that takes in the pretty villages of and Brancaster and Burnham Deepdale and the sweeping sandunes of Holkham along 15 miles of sumptuous coastline. Worn-out? Use the Coasthopper Bus to get back to base.

For even more of a challenge, take The Peddars Way inland from Holme-Next-the-Sea and follow a roman road through wide-open countryside. This route is 46 miles long so if you plan on doing the whole thing, be sure to make plenty of stops along the way at places such as Great Massingham, Castle Acre and Thetford.

Alternatively, explore West Norfolk's waterways on a trail that starts at King's Lynn and follows the Fen Rivers Way upstream along the banks of the River Great Ouse towards Ely.
