Romantic Langrish House countryside retreat

Petersfield, Hampshire

Plan a romantic winter break in Hampshire and explore the rolling hills and forests of the South Downs National Park.

Langrish House, a short distance from the historic market town of Petersfield, is a cosy and romantic place to stay when the temperature drops. With candle-light Christmas teas, log fires, walks from the door and a romantic history, this is the perfect country house retreat. Go for long down-land or riverside walks then find a welcoming pub or tea room for a warming brew.

This countryside was inspiration for authors such as Jane Austen and poet Edward Thomas – what could be more romantic? Circular walks allow you to follow in their footsteps and you can visit Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton, where her ring (recently acquired for the nation) is on display for all to see.
