Discover England’s home of football in Manchester

Trafford, Greater Manchester

Experience the history and drama of the nation’s favourite sport on a Manchester United Museum and Stadium tour, and at the National Football Museum.

Manchester is home to one of the world’s most successful football clubs, Manchester United, so it’s no surprise that people from this Northern city have an obsession with the sport.

The team’s home ground is at Old Trafford stadium, 3 miles (5km) southwest of the city centre. It’s here that you’ll find the Manchester United Museum and Stadium Tour, where you can re-enact pep talks in the changing rooms, run out onto the pitch through the tunnel and see the stadium through the eyes of the players.

Back in the city centre, the National Football Museum is a must-see for football fans. Discover exciting moments, unforgettable memories and a huge collection of over 140,000 items.

Manchester is in northwest England, 2 hours 10 minutes north of London by train. From the city centre, visitors can take the Metrolink tram service to Old Trafford from Piccadilly and Victoria stations.
