October Events: Get a real taste of Durham this autumn

Durham

Eateries across Durham are celebrating the very best in local produce this October, as Taste Durham month returns to make dining out even more of a treat.

Head north east to Durham this autumn as eateries across the county showcase the best in local produce with some very special dishes, and some tasty deals too. October sees a month-long celebration of food and drink - making dining out even more of a treat. Accommodation providers across the county are also getting involved too, giving you a real taste of Durham during your stay.

Throughout Taste Durham Month, eateries, hotels and B&Bs will be highlighting a unique Durham-inspired dish or drink to tempt your taste buds. Last year’s dishes included a pasty inspired by the county’s lead mining heritage to local ale ice-cream, and blue cheese soufflé to Teesdale lamb casserole, and ingredients included handmade cheeses from Cotherstone Cheese, Durham Cow Cheese and Parlour Made, artisan bread, locally farmed pork and beef, and home-grown fruit and vegetables.
