Saddle up in the Peak District and Derbyshire
Bakewell, Derbyshire
View some of the area’s finest scenery on a two-day trail ride, with exhilarating gallops, quintessentially English villages and cosy pub lunches.
Start your horse riding holiday at Northfield Farm Trekking Centre at Flash, England’s highest village – 1,500 feet above sea level.
See superb landscapes in a new light from old drovers’ tracks heading towards Monsal Dale, its famous viaduct and traffic-free trail – an ex-railway line with several re-opened tunnels.
Lunch at Hassop Station, with its bustling café, bookshop and gift shop, then continue across the Chatsworth Estate, picturesque Edensor village and the Haddon Estate, home to one of the finest medieval houses in England.
Stay overnight in Bakewell while your trusty steeds enjoy a well-earned rest in neighbouring Youlgreave. Take up the reins next morning and head for the High Peak Trail and a fortifying pub lunch, before heading back to Flash.
