Enjoy a budget break on the Suffolk coast

Lowestoft, Suffolk

Low on cost, rich in outdoor fun – Suffolk has plenty to offer holidaymakers on a cheap weekend break.

Lowestoft, the UK's most easterly town on Suffolk’s ‘Sunrise Coast’, is the first place in the country to enjoy the sunrise each day and Kessingland beach is one of the best spots to see it from.

The beach is free and nearby Pakefield Caravan Park offers family holidays at a fraction of the cost of hotels or cottages, making it an ideal base for cheap UK breaks.

Nearby Africa Alive! is an amazing walking safari park set in 100 acres, offering a great day out for all the family.

Also close by is Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Carlton and Oulton Marshes, a wetland nature reserve. Free to access, the reserve is home to a number of native Suffolk bird species as well as acres of space to explore.

Oulton Broad is an inland stretch of water that forms the southern gateway to the Broads National Park and is home to numerous watersports to try, or enjoy, as a spectator sport.
