June events: Become part of the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival

Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

Celebrate Hebden Bridge's quirky and distinctive arts scene at this unique festival, known for delivering big names in a local setting.

Hebden Bridge is a handsome little town in West Yorkshire that is awash with creativity, from the artists and musicians hard at work in their studios to the annual Hebden Bridge Arts Festival in June.

Most major events at the festival take place at Hebden’s Trades Club, a club and bar first built in 1923. Headline acts appearing at the Trades Club for Hebden Bridge Arts Festival include Martyn Ware, Catherine Bohart and James Chapman. There are also plenty of free street acts to take in, featuring everything from puppeteers and mime artists to brass bands and flash mobs.

Before or after an event, wander the bohemian streets and feel the influence of writers and artists who flocked to the village around the 1970s and 1980s. From artisan shops and inspiring galleries to organic pavement cafés and charming picture houses, the town is justifiably proud of its artistic identity.

Hebden Bridge Arts Festival 2019 takes place between 21-30 June.
