Step on board HMS M.33, a small ship with a big history

Portsmouth, Hampshire

Visit Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard this summer and you'll find a new addition to its amazing maritime collection.

HMS M.33, opening on August 6, is a unique historic attraction. Launched in May 1915, she is the sole remaining British veteran of that year’s bloody Gallipoli Campaign and the only Royal Navy warship from WWI open to the public during the centenary year.

Your visit starts with a 6-metre descent into the bottom of the dock before stepping aboard. New interpretation, including a stunning immersive battle experience, brings HMS M.33’s history alive, the stories of the men who served on board, and the bloody history of the Gallipoli

While you're visiting Portsmouth Historic Dockyard you can discover years of maritime history at the National Museum of the Royal Navy and experience life of sailors in Tudor, Victorian and Georgian times with visits to the Mary Rose, HMS Victory and HMS Warrior 1860.
