Edward Pugin’s architectural masterpiece sits alongside the Taj Mahal and the ancient ruins of Pompeii as having been listed in the 100 most endangered sites in the world. Built between 1863 and 1872, Gorton Monastery was a hidden gem until an extensive restoration project has made it a premier event venue in Manchester.

Like the Franciscan brothers before, The Monastery takes care of everyone who walks through the door. The Great Nave’s acoustics work for all levels of communication, from spoken word to audio programmes. The space is adaptable for atmospheric conferences, product launches or public forums for 75 to 650 people. For those smaller conferences or team meetings, the doors to the Private Chapel and Friary Rooms are always open.

Free time can be enjoyed in the gardens or on a guided tour, where you can experience the history of this magnificent building.
