Founded in 1881 as a university college, Liverpool is one of the six original "red brick" civic universities of England. The college’s distinctive red pressed brick Victoria Building was designed by Alfred Waterhouse and was completed in 1892.
Events can be hosted in the university’s award-winning Foresight Centre – a Grade II-listed building with great architectural and historical features, yet with state-of-the-art technology. The building holds exhibition and conference centres with videoconferencing equipment, IT training facilities and the executive Hub lounge.
You’ll be walking in the footprints of the university’s eight Nobel Prize winners, as well as pioneers including Professor Oliver Lodge, who made the world's first public radio transmission and also demonstrated the first surgical use of x-rays. The university is one of the world-leading institutions in cancer research and life science, advanced materials, engineering and technology. It’s also highly regarded in the fields of veterinary science, art and humanities.
University accommodation is available for business events held outside the teaching term and the in-house catering service can tailor to specific event requirements.
