Join thousands of spectators in Portsmouth and watch kites of every shape and size take to the air in mid-August.
Every August down in Southsea, the air is filled with hundreds of colourful beasts.
Dinosaurs swoop across the sky, while human faces, caterpillars and reptiles bob back and forth, jostling for position. And below them? Thousands of people from all around the world gather to watch the spectacle.
Recognised as one of the best kite flying events by enthusiasts from all over the world, this festival sees international guests make their way over to Portsmouth to show off their skills.
It’s not all about watching though, if the kids want to have a go, there are workshops on site to show them how to build and fly their own. You never know – even pigs might fly.
VisitEngland would like to invite you to take part in a short survey about our website.
It should take no more than a couple of minutes.
