Enjoy a cultural day out in the country walking the trail from Lincoln Cathedral to St Denys' Church in Sleaford.
The church spires and steeples that punctuate the landscape along this walk were once landmarks for the rural sport of steeple chasing. People used to race between the picturesque North Kesteven villages, most of which are mentioned in the Domesday Book.
You might not fancy running it, but there are 12 stages to walk at your own pace, taking in the history of the area and checking out artworks, churches and gorgeous countryside along the way. If you’re short on time or aren’t an experienced walker, try the Nocton to Dunston stage, one of the easiest but most ancient routes.
It’s hard to get lost, the colourful village signs tell the stories of local communities you’re passing through and let you know you’ve arrived.
