Explore the beautiful home and surroundings that inspired classic Brontë novels and celebrate the 200th birthday of Charlotte Brontë.
It’s a special time to visit the Bronte Parsonage Museum as the 200th birthday of the English writer English Charlotte Brontë is being celebrated throughout 2015 and 2016 with a variety of special events. These include a new exhibition by the renowned author Tracy Chevalier named ‘I Shall Go Off Like a Bombshell’.
You will also have the chance to explore the unique family home and see some of Charlotte’s personal possessions, like the original table where she sat and wrote her inspirational novels including Jane Eyre.
The museum is close to the Brontë Waterfalls and the Brontë Bridge, considered to be the sisters' favourite places in the village of Haworth where they grew up.
Haworth is in the West Yorkshire countryside, 8 miles (13km) west of Bradford. A direct train from London to Bradford takes approximately 3 hours 20 minutes.
