Visit the new Harley Gallery, a permanent home for the Portland Collection on the Welbeck Estate.
The Welbeck Estate is a private estate in rural north Nottinghamshire, and also home to the Harley Cafe, Welbeck Farm Shop, the School of Artisan Food and a number of food and drink producers. Enjoy free entry to the gallery and visit the Portland collection which dates back to Bess of Hardwick in the 1500s and contains 11,000 items, including a Michaelangelo not seen in public for 50 years, a pearl earring worn by Charles I at his execution and an extensive collection of miniatures.
Make a break of it in north Nottinghamshire by staying at award-winning B&B Browns of Holbeck, or at the delightful Ye Olde Bell hotel, a stylish former coaching inn turned luxury hotel with open fire, two restaurants onsite and serves afternoon tea on the terrace for those sunny days.
