Uncover a Magna Carta at the Bodleian Libraries

Oxford, Oxfordshire

Spring’s ‘Marks of Genius’ exhibition in Oxford features treasures from the Bodleian Libraries’ vast collections, including a Magna Carta.

When a completely refurbished Weston Library (formerly the New Library) opens its doors to the public in March 2015, the Bodleian Libraries in Oxford will be able to show highlights from their vast collections in two new exhibition galleries.

The first exhibition planned is Marks of Genius, which features some of the Bodleian's greatest treasures, including a Magna Carta – a perfect excuse for a cultural holiday. A selection of the most valuable special collections items to be housed and exhibited in the Weston Library can already be viewed on the Treasures online exhibition.

There will also be a separate Magna Carta display in the atrium of the Weston Library, showing other Charters in May and June to mark the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta’s sealing on 15th June 2015.
