Steam into spring on board the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway

Ravenglass, Cumbria

Jump on board the Lake District’s oldest, longest and most scenic railway.

Once on board, sit back and relax whilst taking in some of the most spectacular views of Ravenglass, the only coastal village in the Lake District National Park. Travel across the estuary, through the hills and past seven request stops where you can hop on and off to visit castles or Roman ruins.

The journey itself was one of Wainwright’s favourites, crossing seven miles of spectacular scenery to the foot of England’s highest mountains, the Scafell Range.

There are lots of things to do on your stops, shopping, exploring museums and conquering adventure playgrounds, as well as an array of eateries to check out.
