The Tarka Trail offers a family friendly option, with miles of relatively flat, traffic-free pathways that take in some absolutely stunning scenery. You will experience views little changed since Henry Williamson wrote his classic novel Tarka the Otter - from opportunities to see giant sand dunes at Braunton Burrows, to wide seascapes, secret valleys, and fast-flowing rivers, and perhaps a very special glimpse of a leaping salmon or an otter.
There are also historic towns and villages to explore along the way, with great cafes, restaurants, and accommodation options.
