Take a trip to the European City of Science 2016

Manchester City Centre, Greater Manchester

Manchester is the European City of Science 2016

The industrial revolution began in Manchester and visitors can explore this fascinating period at the Museum of Science and Industry. See science come to life in interactive displays and live demonstrations of original machinery all under one roof. There’s also the Manchester Museum which has 4 floors and 15 galleries with displays from across the world.

The Midland Hotel is a city centre retreat which eludes style and elegance. It is the perfect place to stay on a science tour of the city because it was here where Henry Royce and Charles Rolls first met prior to founding Rolls-Royce.

For those who enjoy good food and drink, Cottonopolis Northern Quarter restaurant and bar is the place to be. Based in a former tailor’s studio, this grade 2 listed building oozes style and offers a great selection of fine food and beverages in what was once a manufacturing hub.
