Take the family to Roker beach for a variety of watersports

Sunderland, Tyne and Wear

Enjoy a family day out at the Marine Activities Centre, where you can take part in various water sports including, kayaking, surfing and sailing.

Sunderland is home to the twin beach resorts of Roker and Seaburn which provide a fantastic seaside playground for adults and children alike.

Roker beach is a great place to take part in water-sports due to it being so close to the Marine Activities Centre.

Shed your school uniforms and city suits and swap them for wet suits and let the North Sea wash away your cares. Let the wind blow through your hair whilst you are on top of your surf board or zooming along the surface of the sea in a power boat. Or you can just take the time to absorb the stunning coastal scenery of Roker and Seaburn whilst sitting in your open canoe.

Explore the coast through coasteering and check out the amazing caves and surprising geological rock formations whilst spotting birds, plants and rocks. It is fun and informative for all the family.
