North Devon is renowned for surfing, but it also offers jetskiing, kite-surfing, speed ribbing, and sea safaris on the hunt for dolphins and seals.
North Devon has a long surfing history, and the surf culture is very apparent in the area. Many surf businesses and brands operate out of north Devon, and some top-class wave riders have come from the area. There is even a museum of British surfing in Braunton.
Both novices and experienced surfers are catered for, and with miles of golden sand, there is room for everyone. Surf hire and lessons can be arranged in advance or on the day at most surf beaches. Sea safaris and ribs operate out of Ilfracombe, along with fishing trips and the Lundy ferry.
There is plenty to do in Ilfracombe once you have enjoyed a sea adventure. Jetskiing is popular in Watermouth Cove - they even have an annual WaveFest where manner of petrol-fuelled fun can be enjoyed. You can even go fishing and catch some mackerel for your dinner!
