Stand on the swinging bridge on Scale Lane Bridge, Hull

Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire

Relax with birdsong as you take your position on the swing bridge, one of the only bridges in the UK which you can stand on whilst it moves.

Hull’s impressive state of the art swinging footbridge links Hull’s Old Town to The Deep, one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world. It is one of only a few bridges which pedestrians can stand on as it moves to let boats pass by.

Whilst the bridge is still visitors can enjoy the peaceful birdsong soundscape which gives way to a rhythmic sequence of ship bells chiming whilst it is moving. Themed ‘From Mizzenmast to Sandstroke’ the artwork and sound installation recognises Hull’s maritime history.
