Be wowed by one of the best events in August, as fireworks light up the Howardian Hills at The Castle Howard Proms Spectacular.
The setting is glorious – on the closely trimmed lawns of the stately home, with views over Castle Howard’s Great Lake and the house itself. As the concert comes to a close, fireworks blaze across the summer sky, drawing oohs and aahs from the crowd. It’s a very English, very genteel experience, which fits perfectly with this part of the world, where rolling hills conceal timeless stone villages with historic churches and cosy country inns.
Explore this lovely corner of England by staying the night, and then going back to Castle Howard to see the glorious summer colours in the thousand acres of gardens and grounds.
