Roman history comes to life at this interactive museum, which has been designed for families looking for a fun and educational day out.
Here you will find spectacular reconstructions (including the bath house and a section of the Wall), original Wall, a computer-generated history tour and interactive exhibits that explore how life was for the cavalry regiment living in the fort.
See the reconstructed bath house as an introduction to the luxury and sophistication of the Roman Empire. Look out and see the outlines of the barrack blocks and stables where troops from what is now France and Belgium were housed with their horses, and you will also see the commander’s former home and the headquarters, all from the 35 metre viewing tower.
