Discover how three of Nottinghamshire’s proud military regiments helped to shape our history at The Queen’s Royal Lancers and Nottinghamshire Yeomanry Museum near Ollerton.
Set in the picturesque Thoresby Courtyard, the museum tells the story of the Queen’s Royal Lancers, the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry and the South Nottinghamshire Hussars from the days of cavalry to the brutal battles of the Great War and recent conflicts fought in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Walk through the rooms and find out what role the regiments played in major conflicts through the ages. See fascinating artifacts, including an original red coat worn in the American War of Independence and a tin of chocolates from the Boer War.
The museum boasts a fine collection of medals, uniforms and paintings, along with displays and video presentations, and it is a poignant tribute to all those who fought for their country.
