Manchester is the European City of Science 2016 and there are a huge number of events and activities to get involved in.
The Manchester Science Festival begins in October and brings together a blend of art, workshops, live performances and big experiences for all ages across Greater Manchester. At the centre of the festival is the family programme which includes science shows and hands on activities (many of which are free) to keep the kids busy and entertained. As well there are also many adult orientated activities in the Science After Dark series, including debates, food, drinks and comedy shows.
There will also be several fantastic artistic events where science and creativity are merged to create words, colours, light, shapes and sounds through science. Running alongside the event will be exhibitions in the world class Museum of Science and Industry and Manchester Museum which explores Manchester’s unique connection to science and tells the fascinating story of the birth of the modern world.
Visitors should look no further than the Midland Hotel for accommodation, a luxury stay in the heart of the city and where, fatefully, Charles Rolls first met Henry Royce before going on to create the Rolls Royce company.
