Picnic among the deer in Nottinghamshire’s beautiful country parks

From grand estates to action packed playgrounds, there’s plenty of summer park life to enjoy in Nottinghamshire.

Take a family picnic by the lake at Clumber Park and let the children run free to explore the Woodland Play Park. At the Discovery Centre there they can also get up close to forest lifeand creepy crawlies.

Just a stone’s throw from Nottingham city centre at Wollaton Hall and Deer Park, you can enjoy your lunch alongside the deer that roam the grounds or for a relaxing break sit in the shade of Rufford Abbey with an ice cream in hand.

There are plenty of open spaces to run around and play sports in, or get out on the water on the boating lake at Highfields Park.
