A day out at Cannon Hall Farm in Yorkshire, near Cawthorne, is perfect for animal-loving families and there’s no better time to go than in spring.
Set in the rolling Pennine foothills, the farm is home to hundreds of animals waiting to welcome you to a world of animal magic. The farm features one of the biggest and best equipped playgrounds in the north of England and the largest tube maze in Europe; so there’s plenty of things to do with the kids on their school holidays.
Each year the farm has highland cattle calves, llamas, donkeys, ponies and sometimes even baby wallabies too. There are usually baby rabbits and guinea pigs on show and if you’re lucky hatching chicks too so there’ll be some really tiny baby animals to see.
When the children have tired themselves out and you’re all craving a bite to eat, the tearoom offers a wide selection of homemade tasty treats or you can opt to take your own picnic and eat al fresco.
