Gee up the family with a high-octane adventure holiday in the North York Moors – you never know what you can do until you try.
East Barnby Outdoor Centre starts its annual programme of outdoor activities in Easter, aimed at 9-16 year olds and their families. It’s ‘Outdoor Adventure’ on Tuesdays – and that’s anything from rock climbing to mountain biking – followed by ‘Canoe Adventure’ on Fridays. Meanwhile, the folks at The Wild Woodsmen offer bushcraft school, wilderness skills and survival training.
With plenty of self-catering accommodation, hostels, B&Bs and hotels in the region, and the vibrant resort of Whitby close by, it’s easy to make your action-packed day out into a short break. You’ll go home with a few aches, for sure, but what price can dads put on showing their teenage children how it’s really done?
