If you’re a ‘foodie’, then Hertford is the place to be as the town centre will be bursting with various food and drink activities.
This annual festival, sponsored by McMullen's Brewery and Clover Kitchen, sees county the town come to life with cookery demonstrations, in-house special events, food market and brewery open days. Enjoy some free tasters at the farmers and charter markets and you might even spot a few celebrity chefs. Children can join a cake decorating competition judged by the Mayor of Hertford.
Hertford Castle grounds will be filled with a multitude of world food stalls from Italian to Chinese and Thai to Mexican. On the Sunday, try a variety of local and national beers, ales and ciders (including vegan beer made by local brewery Gold Bear) at the Hertford Castle Beer & Food Festival which will be taking place in a large marquee on the castle lawn. Combine all that with free entry to the castle and live music, this is an event not to be missed.
This year's Hertford Food and Drink Festival takes place between 11-13 October.
