Mix culture and countryside at Sussex Walking Festival

Eastbourne, East Sussex

Discover ancient woodland, the rolling South Downs and vineyard tours, in one of the fascinating walks at this annual Coast & Country Walking Festival.

Held every September and October along the UK’s sunniest stretch of coast, the dramatic cliffs of the South Downs National Park and traditional woodland of the Sussex Weald are the perfect spots to explore the great outdoors in autumn.

From Fizz on Foot vineyard walking tours to artist inspired walks, photography and even Nordic Walking, there is plenty to invigorate and feel at one with nature.

With historic villages and smugglers’ pubs to explore, visit East Dean close to the UK’s highest chalk sea cliff and enjoy a pint of ‘Legless Rambler’ or meet the ancient Long Man of Wilmington – a mysterious chalk hillside figure.  A walk to the Cuckmere Valley also reveals dramatic views and canoeing along the river.
