Let's face it, you're not going to monkeys swinging from trees in England very often. But you can at Paignton Zoo. From Asiatic lions to Chilean flamingos, scaly reptiles to cheeky gibbons, there's an abundance of tropical creatures to see at this Devon-based zoo.
Spread out over 80 acres, you’ll find exotic animals from all types of habitats, like jungles, swamps, deserts and the Savannah. Say hello to the camels, lizards, peacocks and giraffes, and keep an eye out for the red pandas and mysterious slow loris!
If you're old enough, you can book one of the zoo experiences, where you can meet and feed meerkats, tortoises and even rhinos - something you're bound not to forget very soon!
There's lots of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy too. Jump on the jungle express train and see the lions and tigers from a whole new perspective, go for a peaceful walk along the nature trail, go wild in the indoor and outdoor play areas and have your face painted to look like your favourite zoo animal.
After you and the gang have worked up an appetite getting acquainted with the orangutans and zebras, why not grab a bite at the Island Restaurant and watch gibbons swinging away nearby while you nibble on your sandwich?
