At Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate, there’s so much more to Kent’s coastline than building sandcastles, peering into rock pools and taking waterside strolls.

You can learn to surf at one of Kent's best beaches, Joss Bay, with the help of the Surf School. The school is approved by the International Surfing Association and has taught thousands of budding board-riders to skim the water here.

Or, if you prefer, go windsurfing, sailing, kitesurfing or hiking along the iconic shore. Play beach volleyball, swing a mini-golf club or hop in a RIB and blast beside cliffs to a seal colony from the only Royal Harbour in England.

One of the most attractive cycle touring routes in Kent, the 32-mile long Viking Coastal Trail takes in Thanet’s entire shore. And with Active Ramsgate, you can discover more on one of three coastal walks or go geocaching to see what treasures you uncover.
