Explore history, mystery and tales of great adventurers during the annual Swanage and Purbeck Walking Festival.
The 7th Walking Festival takes place from Saturday 17th to Sunday 25th September and includes all kinds of themed walks including photography, wildlife and history.
There are also some local speciality walks such as a visit to Tyneham (the village that time forgot!) and you can also hear about how the area was involved with the World Wars and its connections with T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia).
It’s not all about walking though, as you can combine a walk with a trip on the Swanage Railway and let the train take the strain.
And new for this year and taking place from 16th to the 19th September is the first Purbeck Nordic Walking Festival. Join in with walks, workshops, races and more…
