Go bananas for Trentham Monkey Forest

Trentham , Staffordshire

Pay a visit to the only place in Britain where you can walk among 140 Barbary macaques roaming free in 60 acres of forest.

If you go into the woods, you'll be in for a big surprise. No, you won't be bumping into a bear, but maybe a monkey or two. At Trentham Monkey Forest, there are no cages or enclosures - the cheeky residents can play wherever they like, behaving just like they would in the wild. So don't be surprised if they stroll on the path straight in front of you!

Along the woodland route there will also be information boards telling you about the conservation of the monkeys, as well as guides who are happy to answer any questions. Don't miss out on the hourly feeding talks either - they're a must watch!

As well as the Monkey Forest, the 725-acre Trentham Estate offers a wealth of other activities, making it a destination for all the family to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Kids can get active in the adventure playground,  play ‘Hide and Speak’ in the maze or spot fairies on the magical Fairy Trail.

Trentham Monkey Forest will be reopening on the 25th June. Visitors must book tickets in advance and follow a one-way system around the park. Please check their website below for opening times and more information.
