Durham's first and only 1950s American-themed ice cream parlour is a real sweet treat.
It doesn't have to be Sunday for a sundae at Lickety Split, a unique creamery on the northeast coast. Since opening in 2007 the rockin' venue has won a whole host of awards for its design and drive – and speaking of drives it's just a short one from Durham, in the pretty seaside town of Seaham.
Everything at Lickety Splits has its roots in the USA, from bottles of fizzy Coke and root beer, to ice cream favourites like the Cherry Lee Lewis, Choc Berry and, of course, the one and only Banana Split. It's all served up with a laugh and a smile at a place that looks more American Graffiti than Durham Design.
