It might be a county steeped in history, but Lancashire has a thoroughly alive, kicking – and dancing – side to it, hosting the Great British R&B Festival.
The Great British R&B Festival has been voted Europe’s number one R&B festival, taking place in August each year. Focusing on contemporary blues artists while also playing tribute to the past, the festival is hosted in eight different venues across Colne, around 50 miles (80 km) from Lancaster.
Some of the big names set to entertain during this year's three-day festival (set between 23-25 August) include Anthony Gomes, Danny Bryant Big Band, Rufus Black and Mike Sanchez.
Lancaster is approx 2 hours 30 minutes from London by train.

It should take no more than a couple of minutes.
