Lincoln was voted the world’s most steampunk city and there is a chance to find out why at the annual Steampunk Festival.
Every year, the Victorian Steampunk Society descends on Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter for a retro-futurist extravaganza.
Activities over the weekend’s events in August include The Empire Ball, a steampunk fashion show, tea duelling, the largest steampunk market in the world – with its own black market – and much more.
Pay a visit to Lincoln’s ‘Weekend at the Asylum’ to discover the phenomenon of steampunk through experience. Enjoy window displays from local shops, tea rooms and hotels, pick up some steampunk gear yourself – from top hats and flying goggles to corset and flamboyant feathers – and join in with Lincoln’s neo-Victorian fantasy.
