Don’t miss the opportunity to learn a new skill or watch the creative talents of others at Poole’s Lighthouse.
As its name suggest, Poole’s Lighthouse is a beacon for the local area. Creative talent takes up just about every square metre of this place, which hosts operas, a gallery, comedians, ballet and is the home of Bournemouth’s Symphony Orchestra.
You might not notice as you sip your G&T but even the first floor bar is a work of art, created by artist Danny Lane from 4.5 tonnes of stainless steel. There’s plenty going on for restless types who can’t help wriggling in their seats, itching to join in. Perfect your French, learn to street dance at a workshop or, for the less energetic, there’s an informal tea dance, where no experience – or even a sense of rhythm – is required.
